As an essential component for the English program, in Visual Literacy, students learn to analyse the techniques and elements used by composers to achieve the aim of sending powerful messages beyond words. Students learn the technical terminology used to examine visual design of a text, the context of work, the layout, the elements and the language features. Some of the visual texts used include picture books, advertising, artworks, film, cartoons and comics, magazine covers and photographs.
