Australian studies/ History

History

The History program at Kogarah Intensive English Centre, is underpinned by the Australian Curriculum and the IEP Curriculum Framework. With a strong focus on language, students are introduced to the origins of Australian history from Aboriginal people through to the development of our current Multicultural Society. Students also study a range of ancient societies including, The Greeks, The Romans and The Egyptians.  Students learn how to research, organise information and present their work in various ways so that they are adequately prepared for the demands of mainstream high school History programs.

Australian studies

This beginner's course aims to develop basic vocabulary and knowledge about Australia so that students begin to develop a greater understanding of their new country. Australian Studies embodies knowledge of geography and provides a timeline of Australia's location in the world, its political map, topography, climate, water, resources and various other physical features. Students are introduced to the language structure and features of writing a basic information report.
